Terms & Conditions

Independent Marketing and Promotion Limited t/a iMP

Standard Terms and Conditions for Casual Workers

  1. This is a Contract for casual work only.
  2. Work is not guaranteed after your first assignment. If we do offer you further work you do not have to accept it.
  3. A break in your Contract will occur If there is an interval of a full calendar week (Sunday to Saturday) or more between assignments.
  4. You will be paid for the work at the rate agreed with iMP prior to commencement. This will always be above the Government 'minimum wage'.
  5. You will be entitled to the equivalent of 5.6 weeks' (28 days, including bank holidays) annual holiday per year paid pro rata for the actual hours worked. You will be paid in lieu of untaken holidays accrued at the end of your Contract.
  6. You must submit a timesheet for the hours worked, plus any agreed expenses. Payment will be made at four-week intervals, following submission.
  7. At the commencement of your work you must give us details of your Bank account for electronic payment to be made. You are wholly responsible for the accuracy of these details. We cannot pay you by cheque or cash.
  8. By accepting an assignment you are confirming that you are lawfully entitled to work in the UK.
  9. You will adhere strictly at all times to the Company's Code of Conduct ('the Code'), a copy of which is available here.

Standard Terms and Conditions for Freelance Workers

I wish to be considered by Independent Marketing and Promotion Ltd. (iMP) for freelance work for marketing and promotion services (assignments) obtained by iMP in accordance with the following Terms & Conditions:-

  1. I understand that I am under no obligation to accept any work (assignment) that I may be offered and that any assignment or series of assignments that I do accept will not constitute or imply a Contract of Employment with iMP.
  2. I agree that for any assignment I accept I will comply fully with iMP Staff Code of Conduct ('The Code').
  3. I understand that upon completion of an assignment I must submit an invoice for my pre-agreed fees to iMP which will be paid within 30 days of receipt by the Company.
  4. I understand that I must submit Bank Account details with my invoice for electronic payment and that I am wholly responsible for the accuracy of these. Payment will not be made by cash or cheque.
  5. I confirm that I am lawfully entitled to work in the UK.
  6. I understand that I am wholly responsible for the submission of an annual Tax Return (Self Assessment) to HMRC and for paying any taxes due arising from my assignment(s) with iMP.

Independent Marketing & Promotion Ltd Staff Code of Conduct ('The Code')

Independent Marketing & Promotion Ltd (t/a iMP) (the 'Company') expects the highest standard of behaviour from all it's staff, as do the clients and brands that iMP provide services for. You must be aware of and follow The Code at all times.

You are expected to apply the Code to the performance of your duties for iMP. If you fail to provide the expected standard of behaviour (as set out below) in a satisfactory manner (as determined by the Company) then you will be in breach of The Code, you may be removed from any pending assignments and you may be removed from our database.

  1. You must arrive on time for your assignment.
  2. You must follow the booking guidelines and brief issued to you at all times.
  3. Uniforms must be worn during work hours, must be kept clean and must be fully covered up during break times.
  4. The use of mobile phones for personal reasons is not permitted during working hours.
  5. Always look your best - presentable, smiling and ready for work.
  6. Be polite and courteous to everyone (you never know when a mystery shopper is watching...).
  7. Smoking, consumption of alcohol or illegal substances is not permitted at any time (this includes break times).
  8. You are entitled to an uninterrupted 25 minute rest break for every 4 hours of work. Lunch break times and durations will be allocated in your brief.
  9. Long hair must be tied back at all times unless otherwise instructed.
  10. When sampling food you must adhere to the food safety handling guidelines and refer to your Food Hygiene Certificate
  11. Wearing of heavy or large jewellery is not permitted during work hours.
  12. Tattoos must be covered at all times (unless otherwise stated).
  13. If you are deemed to be intoxicated (eg. hungover) or smelling of alcohol when working you will be asked to leave the activity without compensation pending investigation by The Company.
  14. If you encounter awkward, confrontational or difficult customers when working, do not attempt to deal with them unless you are 100% confident. Don't be embarrassed to ask for help. Find an Event Manager or other member of staff who can help you. If in doubt, walk away to a safe place.
  15. Be aware of iMP Health & Safety Guidelines at all times.
  16. If you are working on an activity which is not busy, ask what you can do to help make the activity a success. Do not use the time to chat.
  17. If working on an age sensitive activity always check customer age ID if in any doubt.
  18. Failure to provide The Company with less than 48 hours notification to cancel an activity may result in your termination from the assignment. Your cancellation must be acknowledged in writing by a member of iMP Head Office staff (0113 243 8194). We may also remove you from our database.
  19. Failure to turn up for an assignment... We're all human and we've heard all the excuses before. Please be honest with us. If you have a genuine reason for not attending work we will understand and try to help you. Hopefully we will be able to cover your shift and reassign you to another activity. If you are dishonest then we will not offer you any work in the future and we may withhold part or full payment for monies owing to you, pending investigation by The Company.

Failure to follow this Code will result in a breach of the Code and may result in your termination from an assignment forthwith and removal from our books.
